Our Pastors

Coming from Oklahoma to the Rio Grande Valley in 1978, the Vinita’s purpose was to follow God’s lead to serve as missionaries to Mexico. Studying Spanish at Kingsway Missionary Institute in McAllen, Texas prepared Pastor Jim Vinita to work in Mexico for over six years. The Holy Spirit then directed Pastors Jim and Joyce Vinita to open their home for Sunday worship and Bible study. Pastor Jim would preach the Word from his kitchen to people seated in the living room, while Joyce taught children in the bedroom. Soon their home was overflowing with people and was the beginning of Abundant Grace Community Church.

Growth occurred so that services were moved from the Vinita home to a borrowed recreation hall in a mobile home park, then to a banquet room of a hotel, to the present locale. In 1983, land was purchased and the first chapel building was built. Additional buildings have been built as growth occurred to the present building we are now in.

The name Abundant Grace Community Church tells the whole story. For we believe there is more than enough grace from Him to touch and forever change your life through Jesus Christ.
