Prosperity means conforming to God’s revealed will.
Isa 48: 17 Thus says the Lord, your Redeemer, The Holy One of Israel: “I am the Lord your God, Who teaches you to profit, Who leads you by the way you should go. NKJV
We must first wash our minds of worldly attitudes that we have acquired before we were saved.
Titus 3: 5 not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to His mercy He saved us, through the washing of regeneration and renewing of the Holy Spirit, NKJV
Eph 5:26 that He might sanctify and cleanse her with the washing of water by the word, NKJV
Rom 12:1 And so, dear brothers and sisters, I plead with you to give your bodies to God because of all he has done for you. Let them be a living and holy sacrifice—the kind he will find acceptable. This is truly the way to worship him. 2 Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect. NLT
Prov 21:5 The plans of the diligent lead to profit, just as surely as haste leads to poverty. NIV
Any and all changes must be made on our part. The Lord’s principles never change.
Heb 13:8 Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever. NKJV
Mal 3:6 For I am the Lord, I change not; KJV
James 1:17 Whatever is good and perfect comes down to us from God our Father, who created all the lights in the heavens. He never changes NLT
It is the will of God that we prosper spirit, soul, and body. When we are born again our spirit begins to prosper.
Eph 2: 1 And you He made alive, who were dead in trespasses and sins, 2 in which you once walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit who now works in the sons of disobedience, 3 among whom also we all once conducted ourselves in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind, and were by nature children of wrath, just as the others. 4 But God, who is rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us, 5 even when we were dead in trespasses, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved), 6 and raised us up together, and made us sit together in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, NKJV
Obedience to the Word of God causes our soul, { mind ,will, and emotions } to prosper.
Ps 19:7 The law of the Lord is perfect, converting the soul; The testimony of the Lord is sure, making wise the simple; 8 The statutes of the Lord are right, rejoicing the heart; The commandment of the Lord is pure, enlightening the eyes; NKJV
Ps 23:1 The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. 2 He makes me to lie down in green pastures;
He leads me beside the still waters. 3 He restores my soul; NKJV
Faith and obedience to God’s Word causes the body to prosper.
Prov 4: 20 My son, give attention to my words; Incline your ear to my sayings. 21 Do not let them depart from your eyes; Keep them in the midst of your heart; 22 For they are life to those who find them,
And health to all their flesh. NKJV
3 John 2 Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prosper.
The road to prosperity is a journey. And there are pit falls all alone the way.
Prov 3:5 Trust in the Lord with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding; 6 In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths. NKJV
The enemy will try to discourage God’s people by tempting them to compromise their faith in His Word. When we walk by faith we must always expect opposition and resistance.
Matt 19:26 “With men this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.” NKJV
Heb 10:35 So do not throw away this confident trust in the Lord. Remember the great reward it brings you! 36 Patient endurance is what you need now, so that you will continue to do God’s will. Then you will receive all that he has promised. NLT
Phil 4:19 And my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus. NKJV
John 16:33 These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.” NKJV
Ps 34:19 Many are the afflictions of the righteous, But the Lord delivers him out of them all. NKJV
How to resist discouragement from the enemy.
2 Cor 10:4 For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, 5 casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ, NKJV
The mind is the battlefield, if we keep the enemy in the realm of faith , we will defeat him. However, if he can draw us into the realm of feelings and circumstances ……we will be defeated.
Eph 6:12 For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. 13 Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. NKJV
How do I keep from being drawn into the realm of feelings and circumstances.
Phil 4:8 Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy — meditate on these things. NKJV
Isa 26:3 You will keep him in perfect peace, Whose mind is stayed on You, Because he trusts in You.
Josh 1:8 This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success. NKJV
In tough times three basic laws are at work. The law of destruction and the law of deliverance and the law of meditation.
The Victim
Hos 4:6 My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge. NKJV
The Overcomer
Prov 11:9 But through knowledge the righteous will be delivered. NKJV
The link between success and failure is the law of meditation.
Ps 1:1 Blessed is the man Who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly, Nor stands in the path of sinners,
Nor sits in the seat of the scornful; 2 But his delight is in the law of the Lord, And in His law he meditates day and night. 3 He shall be like a tree Planted by the rivers of water, That brings forth its fruit in its season, Whose leaf also shall not wither; And whatever he does shall prosper. NKJV
