“What then shall I do with Jesus who is called Christ?”

Matt 27:15 Now at the feast the governor was accustomed to releasing to the multitude one prisoner whom they wished. 16 And at that time they had a notorious prisoner called Barabbas.   17 Therefore, when they had gathered together, Pilate said to them, “Whom do you want me to release to you? Barabbas, or Jesus who is called Christ?” 18 For he knew that they had handed Him over because of envy.

19 While he was sitting on the judgment seat, his wife sent to him, saying, “Have nothing to do with that just Man, for I have suffered many things today in a dream because of Him.”

20 But the chief priests and elders persuaded the multitudes that they should ask for Barabbas and destroy Jesus. 21 The governor answered and said to them, “Which of the two do you want me to release to you?”

They said,”Barabbas!”

22 Pilate said to them, “What then shall I do with Jesus who is called Christ?”

They all said to him, “Let Him be crucified!”

23 Then the governor said,”Why, what evil has He done?”

But they cried out all the more, saying, “Let Him be crucified!”

24 When Pilate saw that he could not prevail at all, but rather that a tumult was rising, he took water and washed his hands before the multitude, saying, “I am innocent of the blood of this just Person. You see to it.”

25 And all the people answered and said,”His blood be on us and on our children.”

26 Then he released Barabbas to them; and when he had scourged Jesus, he delivered Him to be crucified. NKJV

Those in this world who care not for spiritual things such as secularists, humanist, agnostics, atheists, cynics, and all infidels, have done as the Roman Procurator Pontius Pilate did, they have one way or another washed their hands of Jesus. However small, they deal with Him every time they date a check perhaps May 18th 2008, or “ Anno Domini” “ in the year of our Lord”

Some Christ rejectors open their businesses on Christmas Day  just  to insult His Holy Name. Self deceived and unbelieving they have no idea what they must one day face.

Rev 20:11 Then I saw a great white throne and Him who sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away. And there was found no place for them. 12 And I saw the dead, small and great, standing before God, and books were opened. And another book was opened, which is the Book of Life. And the dead were judged according to their works, by the things which were written in the books. 13 The sea gave up the dead who were in it, and Death and Hades delivered up the dead who were in them. And they were judged, each one according to his works. 14 Then Death and Hades were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death.   15 And anyone not found written in the Book of Life was cast into the lake of fire NKJV

There is, it seems no part of life where He does not speak to us.

The birth of a baby reminds us of how humbly He entered this world. A baby wrapped in swaddling clothes lying in a manger.

A half naked woman on a billboard reminds us of the woman taken adultery.

John 8:1 But Jesus went to the Mount of Olives. 2 Now early in the morning He came again into the temple, and all the people came to Him; and He sat down and taught them. 3 Then the scribes and Pharisees brought to Him a woman caught in adultery. And when they had set her in the midst, 4 they said to Him, “Teacher, this woman was caught in adultery, in the very act. 5 Now Moses, in the law, commanded us that such should be stoned. But what do You say?”   6 This they said, testing Him, that they might have something of which to accuse Him. But Jesus stooped down and wrote on the ground with His finger, as though He did not hear. 7 So when they continued asking Him, He raised Himself up and said to them, “He who is without sin among you, let him throw a stone at her first.”  8 And again He stooped down and wrote on the ground. 9 Then those who heard it, being convicted by their conscience, went out one by one, beginning with the oldest even to the last. And Jesus was left alone, and the woman standing in the midst. 10 When Jesus had raised Himself up and saw no one but the woman, He said to her, “Woman, where are those accusers of yours? Has no one condemned you?” 11 She said, “No one, Lord.”And Jesus said to her, “Neither do I condemn you; go and sin no more.”   NKJV

There are many who are willing to put Jesus Christ right up there with other world religious leaders such as Confucius, Buddha, Krishna, and Mohammed. They would say he is a good moral teacher, but not God. None of these religious leaders were willing to lay down their life for their followers and rise again to bring them eternal life.

But Jesus said of Himself:

John 14:6 Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.  NKJV

The Heavenly Father said:

Matt 17:5 While he was still speaking, behold, a bright cloud overshadowed them; and suddenly a voice came out of the cloud, saying,”This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased. Hear Him!” 6 And when the disciples heard it, they fell on their faces and were greatly afraid. 7 But Jesus came and touched them and said, “Arise, and do not be afraid.”  8 When they had lifted up their eyes, they saw no one but Jesus only.  NKJV

The question still echos through time, “ What then shall I do with Jesus which is called Christ?” In the end, there are only two responses, reject Him or receive Him.

John 1:11 He came to that which belonged to Him [to His own — His domain, creation, things, world], and they who were His own did not receive Him and did not welcome Him.

12 But to as many as did receive and welcome Him, He gave the authority (power, privilege, right) to become the children of God, that is, to those who believe in (adhere to, trust in, and rely on) His name —  AMP
